At GGF we also work with rubber sheets.
We also work with rubber sheets. From a rubber sheet you can punch or cut to the finished detail. This is more economic if you want a thin part and when you don’t need a mould to produce the part. We buy the rubber sheet from different Swedish suppliers. For example Primogum AB in Trosa. We also produce our own rubber sheets in the sizes of 400 x 400 mm and in different thicknesses. We can produce in all our normal rubber material and in hardness es between 30 shore up to 80 shore.
The rubber sheet comes in different thickness and also in different kind of materials. Common materials are SBR, silicone Q, EPDM, chloroprene CR, Natural rubber NR and Nitrile rubber NBR.
The rubber sheets also comes in different hardnesses. When punching there is a cost for a punch tool. IF water cutted the program will cost to develop.
Water cutting of rubber sheet
In January of 2016 we invested in a water cutting machine. Nowadays we can produce most of the details that are thin or plane without the need for a punching tool. There could be a cost for designing a program for the machine, but it is usually cheaper than a punch tool and the lead time is also shorter. Thicknesses of rubber cloth up to 10 mm can be cut in our machine.
